29th Annual Summer Camp for Burn Injured Youth Wrap Up

This years Burn Camp theme was “Be a Start in Life” as we celebrated 29 years of camp, and we believe it is a perfect reflection of the spirit of our community. This year, we welcomed 50 total campers to Burn Camp including 13 new campers, ten Explorers, ages 2 – 7, with their parents/guardians, and five Young Adults, ages 18 – 21.

During the week our campers and staff participated in activities such as zip-lining, a comedy show, high and low ropes courses, and attending a red-carpet formal dance on the final night of camp. On Tuesday night, we hosted our annual Ride to Burn Camp where over 150 bikers came out with their trikes and side cars to give our campers a ride around Camp Timber-lee. The excitement continued Thursday during Visitor’s Day with a Fire Truck Parade, slip ’n slide, and countless visitors experiencing a bit of camp. Our goal is that our activities will challenge, inspire, and connect our campers with each other.
