It has been said that life is 10 percent what happens to you and 90 percent how you react to it. Jared Estes’ life is a testament to that theory. As newlyweds at age 25, Jared, his wife Paige, and two friends were struck by a drunk driver going over 120 mph. This horrific moment changed the course of Jared’s life in ways he could have never imagined. Jared barely escaped death as he suffered 2nd and 3rd degree burns on half of his body. As he began to endure more than 50 surgeries, doctors delivered devastating diagnoses, including a lifetime of pain and loss of functionality. Even worse, his bride of only six months was killed in the crash. Jared struggled with physical and emotional recovery before he was able to find a new perspective on life with the help of support from family and friends. Jared had a realization that he could decide to surpass mere survival… he could FIRE BACK.

PFFWCF Alliance for Fire Safety Membership
The Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin Alliance for Fire Safety is a continuation of the Wisconsin Alliance for Fire Safety formed in 1987 after a fifteen-day period in which 20 people suffered a fire related death in the City of Milwaukee, among them 17 children.
In 2015, The Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin Charitable Foundation acquired the Wisconsin Alliance for Fire Safety with the commitment to support and maintain all the successful burn survivor and fire safety programs the Wisconsin Alliance for Fire Safety built over the last 30 years.
WHAT DOES MEMBERSHIP MEAN?
Membership is a reflection of a personal commitment to the values of public service, dedication, compassion, and courage demonstrated by the first responders, care givers, and burn survivors that are the heart of the Alliance for Fire Safety.

With over 800,000 children missing every year, one every 40 seconds, the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin have partnered with the American Football Coaches Association and the Green Bay Packers with the SAFETY BLITZ National Child Identification Program.
The SAFETY BLITZ Program provides a Child ID kit, which allows parents to collect specific information by easily recording the physical characteristics and finger prints of their children on identification cards, and their DNA in a kit that can be then kept at home by the parent or guardian. If ever needed, the Child ID kit will give authorities vital information to assist their efforts to locate a missing child.
Your partnership and financial contribution to this project makes it easier to get Child ID Kits directly into the hands of the parents and greatly increase the number of children protected in their communities. You can join us by donating below.
Thank you for your generosity. This project would not be possible without your support.

The annual 2015 BURN CAMP planning is in full swing! As you know, the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin Charitable Foundation acquired Wisconsin Alliance for Fire Safety (WAFS)and all of the programming as of January 1, 2015. Many of the people involved with WAFS are still fully involved.
Our goal is to enhance all WAFS programming, including the Burn Camp. Therefore, we need all hands on deck....the counselors, the volunteer and professional fire fighters, private and corporate donors, the groups holding fundraisers, the motorcycle groups, the chili cook-off chefs and organizers, the in-kind donors, etc.
Each and every person involved with WAFS in the past is invited to continue the WAFS mission.

Thank you for all you do!
The Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin Charitable Foundation is pleased to announce it has acquired the Wisconsin Alliance for Fire Safety ("WAFS"), and all of their programs and operations.
We are honored and humbled to be selected to carry out this important obligation. We will endeavor to carry out the mission established by WAFS, and strive to enhance and build upon the seed they planted.
The summer burn camp for youth injured by fire, and the other programs that benefit burn survivors, will be now known as the Professional Fire Fighters of Wisconsin Charitable Foundation ALLIANCE FOR FIRE SAFETY Program.
We wish to thank Dan and Mary Gengler, the staff of WAFS, and all of the past and present supporters of WAFS for their exceptional efforts throughout the years.
We invite all of those who helped in the past to continue to help in the future. Whether you are a volunteer fire fighter, a professional firefighter, a public or private donor, a fire service organization, etc., we need all hands on deck.
We look forward to working with all that care deeply about the WAFS programs, and pledge to carry them out and continue to grow them.
